Silver-ish MazdaSpeed 6 vs stock RSX (Blue)

Yeah so my friend raced a MazdaSpeed 6 with an exhaust system, on lawrenceville/suwanee road last night. DAMN, Mazda's are slow as hell! Keep in mind that we were in a stock RSX, the 2 cars were neck and neck from the stop light, until about 40-50mph when the mazdaspeed 6 pulled about half a car, then stayed there.

appearantly someone didn't know how to drive their MS6... or launch it for that matter... especally if some solw POS RSX was hanging with it off the line. I drove one at the Mazda Zoom-Zoom live and the car was fast and it launches good.. i would know.

Yea i test drove one last week. Not that slow, at all but there clutches feel horrible. Also drove the speed 3 which i think is alot faster. both will beat rsx type s.

It doesn't matter that the RSX lost, it's a NA, front wheel drive econo-box. But for Mazda's self proclaimed King-dingaling of AWD to only pull ahead by a few feet. That's sad.

The MS6 is okay, but it's heavy and feels a lot more sluggish than it is. At least IMO. I preferred the feel of the MS3. :yes:

The RSX-S is a 14 second car (from factory) as well. All the RSX had was a good set of tires.

I don't know what you've been told, but AWD is really only good in straight lines, or un-even terrain. A rear-wheel drive set up will always be the optimal choice for curves.

The MS6 doesn't run the 1/4 mile much faster than the RSX-S does. Except the RSX-S has a highed trap-speed. Throw some KDW's on the RSX and it's gonna bring down the 1/4 mile times.

Mazda6 do come with allmost all the option ,as the mazdaspeed 6...

Most turbo cars, from factory are slow.Evo,sti,mazdaspeed6,srt-4,etc ,on the highway are not that fast.....But if you were to change the turbo,like a gt35 on any of those cars,you will see a big improvement..

I think that was me in the White MS6 against the Black SRT-4. If so we ran back to back and I beat him. With his new setup and better tires, I couldn't hang with his car now. BUT!! I'm in the process of upgrading my Turbo/IC/ECU etc....

Now as for the RSX-S. I raced those when I had a V6 Mazda6 (MTX) And I ran right next to them with no problem.:goodjob: The best I got out of the V6 model was a 14.8 1/4. I raced a few with my MS6 and its not even a race. Here are my MS6 1/4 times. I'm sure ppl know who I am. I go to the http://importshowdown.com/ and http://www.southeasttrackday.com/ events. Yes we know the MS6 isn't the fastest 4door car out there but its not the slowest.

if he was hispainc, kinda white, and kinda bald than that was him. his name is juan... has a Limited WRX, which comes with leather/sunroof/ect.

he is stock.... but the reason why he didn't sound stock is due to him running a STOCK open downpipe... so he is stock but with this free mod he is alittle bit quicker than a normal stock Impreza.

I dont know my speed6s, but on the wrx, you can get away with this on the 02/03s (even though you still wont see the best benefits w/o EM) but you SHOULD NOT run aftermarket DPs on the 04+ wrxs w/o EM. (I'm pretty sure it has to do with the open loop and closed loop fueling/transition).

I advised dub to hold out on the downpipe and/or uppipe until he can get some EM, which he has preordered (CPE).

You must not know much about cars at all. Those cars are all good on hwy. Most evos on the street are on stock turbo and trust me i waxed plenty of cars on the highway. Also those cars are really fast from factory compared to other cars from factory.:screwy:

well i had my wheel baring fixed last week.... and it got fucked up two days ago.. so they're fixing it under warrenty(??). i should(hopefully) get it back tomorrow.

are wrx wheel bearings as bad as people say? in your opionion, will low offset wheels kill the bearings on a wrx? say , for example, a ET42, 8.5" rim...

I ran that 13.7 thats in my sig completely stock. I also ran the same times with the current setup I have. No big difference. CAI/HKS BOV/ HKS Coilovers.

im having a hard time believing your STOCK RSX can pull off a 1.7 60ft. in short i dont think the speed6 was racing until he figured out you were trying to race him at about 40 MPH
