I decided to make a new thread on the build up on the car so it won't be cluttered with the crap. So here it goes



We just threw a rod Saturday night. It's in the process of getting the built/stroked motor installed as we speak. I'm going to try to keep updated pics going on of the build up.

I think the stock rods just couldn't handle the torqe (thanks you know who ). Luckily the rods shot through the motor and not the hood. Here are the pics of the new built motor and the pistons. I obviously had to get a new crank and that came today along with some of the bearings. There should be some big big power here in the next week. I'll let ya'll know.

It was brought to my attention that since I had ARP head studs the block is not completely stock:). So the previous owner of the car had ARP head studs installed (just so we are all on the same page). I guess in Dan's pinion it's stock because it's a stock short block with stock rods and pistons :dunno: But I would rather not get into that debate in this thread if ya'll don't mind :)

It was on more power. We put an intake manifold on it the night before Tunerfest. It dynoed 511 on much less boost...so It was pushing more power when this happened.

Did you look at the links in the beginning of this thread? Most of the cars progression is explained there.

Only 422? How much should it make? I don't know. I just drive the car.

Dan said that's what it's supposed to make on the GT35R with no cam gears. There is no cam gears on the car. And I'm not totally sure why yet, but Dan doesn't want to tell what it was making once we put the manifold on. I'm sure he will tell at some point...he usually has a good reason when he doesn't want to tell something. I'm actually surprised that he's being so open about the pics and stuff ???

I won't be taking the Evo if I go. It will be making toooo much hp for road racing. Maybe I can bring the 240 instead.

I guess Dan said it would make more TQ with the cam gears. Dan says that the stock block is good for 500. He said that he wouldn't push a customers car more than that. We are going to put this turbo kit that we made into production now that we blew up the car. That's what we were waiting for. We just sent the flange that we made to be cut. We have had like 100
e-mails on people wanting to buy the kit. It will be a lot less expensive than some of the other GT35R kits out there.

Alot of times tuners will detune the car at peak torque, to keep the motor safe. I know Dan did that on the subaru but I dont know about the EVO.

422tq is dead on for what that car had done. Most of the EVO tuners in the country havent been using an AWD dynojet, they've been using the modded TCASE and dynoing 2WD. If you were to dyno BG's Evo 2WD, the numbers would be ridiculous, and far above what many others are making...especially on a stock motor.

We decided that since that took so long that we would go ahead and get the motor balanced, which we did and just got all that back this week. Now we are going to go ahead and have the transmossin built. I think that will be done next week.

Sorry to keep you in suspense. It's going to be a bad MFer tho. I'll give you a ride for waiting so long, Spyder ;)

I dunno, it might be. I've studied it for 7 years in school and went to school in Paris for a semester. That helped me the most. Not that I know you or even want to know you, but I have been around Tracy, Dan, & Brandon back before the shop was even a thought. Am I friends with these people? Yes. Do I or have I ever even had my car in their shop for repairs or upgrades? No. Not that I wouldn't have them do it I just haven't needed any shop to do any of my recent work. Now with all of that said, so you dont come at me like Im some fucking cheerleader, why is it that you seem to hate on this woman. Contrary to popular belief, each one of the 3 people bring something to the table at BG. If they didnt then there would be no use for them or point to having them on payroll. Yes she may not get out there and tear down a motor and rebuild it, but she does a lot of the behind the scenes work the helps the day to day operations go through. It just seems that you have no other mission in life but to sit at your computer and trash talk her. Why not just get a fucking life and a hobby and do something with yourself.
