Alright here is my assignment: http://www.math.gatech.edu/~ustefans/1502_rec_files/HW2.pdf

I have to do all of these by tomorrow at 3, so far I have them all done but numbers 8, 10, 11, 12, 17, 19, and 21. If you can help me out reps will be awarded LOL. Thanks guys

don't lie jordan! you're screwed! sorry bro, i don't do the math thing, i was suprisingly good at geometery (i always knew the square went in the square hole) but anything past that i sucked at, sorry buddy. do what i always do play video games and blame your no homework on woman troubles lol regardless if you have one or not lol

I could do them... but I'm leaving the library now and I may not get back on.

Well if you do get back on just let me know, I'm not expecting someone to just do these for me. I have a general idea, these are just the ones I can't seem to finish.

Im glad I stopped at Calc I, even though it was pretty easy but still.

For the convergance test you either have to find the integral - if its divergent then the series is divergent, etc, etc.

For the radius of convergence: do the ratio test, L = lim k-->inf |f(k+1)/f(k)|, if L > 1 div, if L < 1, con. absolutely. If L = 1 or lim does not exist then the test is inconclusive.

#8 - I think you can use the ratio test and get |(2n+1)!(2n+1)!/(4n+1)! * (4n)!/(2n)!(2n)!| which cancels to (2n+1)(2n+1) / (4n+1) so then take the lim as n --> inf and if L < 1 then it's convergent.

#10 is the alternating series test - if 0 < an+1 < an and lim n--> inf = 0 then the series is absolutely convergent for all n.

#11 try it again w/ the alternating series test.

#12 the radius of convergence is the ratio test again, then divide each term by n to get -1 < something * x <1. so solving the inequality for x will give you the intervals and plug them into the series to see if it is div or conv at those particular points and that tells you if it's a closed or open interval, ie [x,y], [x,y), (x,y), etc.

#17 - i forget haha

#19 & #21 - seperable diff eq, i forget those too, hahahaa.

good luck. calc 3 sucks hard compared to calc 2. :)

what's strange too is why they use k instead of n.. every summation (x1 + x2 + x3...+xi...+xn) is always n as the nth term. k ive always seen used as curvature. *shrug*

Thank You very much, I'm gonna work on it again in the morning and this should really help. I really appreciate it, sounds like you know your stuff, diff equations are pretty easy it's just that these have little tricks in them that I dont know. Thanks again, I owe you

for the diff eq's in 18-21, integrate both sides of the equation by y to get rid of the differential y'. remember that when integrating by y, any terms with x in them are treated like constants so you can pull them outside of the integral. then you should be able to solve for y...

lol...i took calculus like 9 years ago or something at Tech. back then we were still on quarters instead of semesters - so there was 5 calc classes plus diff eq's. the first part of your homework with series and convergence...was what woulda been calc 3 for me. calc 3 was the easiest out of the 5 (well calc 5 was easy too, it involved messing with matrices and systems of equations), but i hardly remember it now. diff eq's is what I mainly used for EE actually so that's what stuck...

good luck with your homework. wait till you gotta start doing double and triple integrals and changing coordinate systems in the next calc. lol.
