Please answer. I have professionally painted rims (AMG Rims) before and they turned out just fine. They never cracked and I was wondering what the main difference was.

thank you

powder coating is kinda like when u glazed a pot in art class...u know like the lil clay pots u probly have made....u know ud paint it with the glaze and ur teacher would fire it and it would come backshiny and bright....looking like glass.....its is heated to a certain temp...so it kinda is like tempered paint..and it pretty much bonds with ur rims on another level like molecular.....where as painting just kinda puts a coat of color on......the powder coat is applied then heated and the substance they use melts and turns glossy causing a super hard glass/metalic like finish in ur desired color

thats my understanding i could be wrong...
