Why not?

Mid engine Honda conversions are old hat. There is a guy on Honda-Tech that has a Del Sol called the "Gemini Project." Twin H22 Turbo Engines, AWD. THAT's impressive.

Are you kidding? Several times over you can see the rear end under the car. ALSO the time he takes off to the right you see the black marks as soon as the car moves behind the rear tires. If it were front wheel, the car would've had to gone farther before you saw the marks.

I wanna see that awd h22!!! lol

And then there's the Top Fuel del Sol with the turbo type R in the trunk...
http://www.superstreetonline.com/featuredvehicles/turbo_powered_honda_del_sol/

Easiest way to toss a motor in the back is the H22, though, because of the way the linkages and cables on the trans work.

I've been tossing around doing this... I know the guy who built that black one, and I can tell you... he sold it for 5500. It killed me not to pick it up. It seems like a fun project, but I definitely need a daily driver before I do anything that time consuming. :D

I said the Top Fuel car too. Why not a K series? It's the same type of shift cables.

SixSquared

It's really not... basically, weld engine bay into trunk, mount, upgrade, done.

Hmm... now may be a good time for me to look into doing this.. considering I have a whole extra sol... and an H22.... hmmmmm

whats wrong with having a front mount on there??? im mid engine and my radiators are in the front of the carthere is speculation that fmic in mid engine cars drops the boost pressure and creates turbo lag because of the extra long piping.

 there is no way in hell that would be effecient. my rad is in the front too and the distance the air would have to travel makes the intercooler itself unneccisary

this is nice ideal set up for an MR car (that allows the space)

he soulda spent the $ he put in to converting that thing from slow as hell to slow and instead put a massive turbo in there, what an idiot.

SixSquared
02-22-2007, 12:47 PM
^^He has a turbo on there... it's just not the most efficiently running one.

And FYI, that sol has yet to be fully pushed... the guy who did that one did a custom fab on the mount points, and they've been having problems with the welds breaking (it's not welded well) from torque movement. The guy who built it sold it, though, and it's now in better hands.

I saw a CRX with a NSX motor in the ass end of it a long ass time ago. I think it was around 2001 or 02. Madahvi(sp?) motorsports made it I think.
