I took about 20 measurements of the hood to fender, fender to door, rear quarter panel to door, etc.... I want everything back the way it was before removal :P

Most bolts went back in the thread on the chasis and the rest will be stored like so:

The car came with this security key thing. Caused me a headache one night last year so it's coming out!!
(Quick story about device) -- Went out of town last year and left the hatch in the employee parking lot at the airport. After riding the work bus back to the car from the terminal, could not find/remember what I did with the key. So, for several minutes I looked through the car in case I hid it and also emptied my luggage to not find it. So, then I had to push the car around the small parking lot and after the 4th time got it to crank by push start. PITA!!! Car is not daily driven so I should not need it. Maybe I'll put it on ebay since I can use every penny for the project.
This is the key that you take when exiting the car:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_2875_rs22.jpg
Not much security when all someone has to do is re-splice the wire :crook: If I were to keep it, I would try to move the splice further back out of the way:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_2876_rs25.jpg
This is inside the box for the device. The ground is NOT grounded (unless I pulled it out when bringing the box down).
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_2882_rs22.jpg
Is it even wired correctly? Power / Starter is just splicing the wire??
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_2878_rs22.jpg
All that crap is coming out:

Here we go Session 3:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_2923_rs25.jpg
Look at all those leaves. That entire system was disgusting!!
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_2938_rs25.jpg
Looking better now:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_2942_rs25.jpg
On to the firewall mat. It was a PITA on the drivers side up around the steering column. I got very frustrated because I had to get my hand up in small areas with a razor blade to help cut parts of the mat
Fedex cheered me back up:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_2948_rs25.jpg
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_2963_rs25.jpg
Long a$$ extension FTW :bump:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_2946_rs25.jpg
After the firewall mat was removed which BTW weighs 8 pounds, I started on the SRS system.
Couldn't "unscrew" the bolts so I drilled them out with my brand new drill:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_2954_rs22.jpg
SRS unit for those who've never seen it. My first time seeing one :boobies:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_2964_rs25.jpg
Next was the windshield wiper system. Don't plan to drive in the rain and Rain-X works wonders :police:
Just 4 10mm bolts holding it along with a wire harness to disconnect:

Session 4:
Today I only had a few hours since I went over to a friends house to help move some sheets of wood to his attic from garage. I did manage to tuck the hatch wires, remove the dome light, and took a look at relocating the fuse box.
Here's what I started with today:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_2979_rs25.jpg
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_2991_rs25.jpg
Panel tool really helped out with a lot of the clips:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_2989_rs25.jpg
Handy little mirror allowed me to easily squueze the rear of the clips with angled pliers for an easy removal:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_2990_rs25.jpg
These 2 wires were just tucked in the hole :hammer: Any idea what they were for??
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_2993_rs25.jpg
I ended up cutting that part of the harness since I don't need the 3rd brake light or defroster:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3004_rs25.jpg
This is what was removed when I made the cut above:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3006_rs25.jpg
There was no need to cut the driver side defroster harness, so I tucked it back out of the way:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3007_rs25.jpg
For the gas/trunk lever located inside the door sill remove the (2) 10mm bolts:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3001_rs25.jpg
With pliers just grab the wire and rotate downward toward the little gap. The wire will just come out:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3003_rs22.jpg
And the completed rear interior tuck:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3008_rs25.jpg
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3015_rs25.jpg
I removed the dome light harness.
This is where the dome light wires lead to.
Disconnect and the dome light harness is good to go for reinstall:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3027_rs25.jpg
Had a little bit of time left, so I took a close look at relocating the fuse box under the dash.
My first time seeing the back side of a fuse box:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3017_rs25.jpg
How do I get that under here?? Need some pointers with this one :???:
I'm thinking first unwrap all the wiring under the battery area.

Had some change in plans for the interior paint. Looks like the weather is going to stay cool (30's-50's) until March. Not good for painting. So, talking with my bro down in Ocala he's decided he will be painting the interior, doors, engine bay, and complete exterior. He doesn't like to do dings and $Hit so in the meantime I am going to find someone who can remove EVERY ding on the car. He was already set on spraying the bay before the K20 goes in of course. Besides he is really good when it comes to painting. Throw some of his work in here:

Removing the rubber that surrounds the perimeter of the door was pretty easy. Just need to pull the rubber to one side which then slips off that side of the banana clip. Then back toward the other side and the rubber slides off the banana clip. Repeat 17 or so times:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3028_rs22.jpg
Banana clip:

Removing the glass:
Remove the (2) 10mm bolts
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3032_rs22.jpg
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3030_rs22.jpg
Carefully angle the forward part of the glass downward and raise the rear to remove the glass:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3033_rs22.jpg
When removing the molding that runs along the top of the door some clips may remain on the door. Just push as shown and lift off the door:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3035_rs22.jpg
Prying out that copper colored pin to remove the door handle was a PITA!!! :2up:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3038_rs22.jpg
Once said and done with removing the moldings and window crank , this is what's left:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3041_rs22.jpg
Yeah, nasty a$$ glue that is a PITA to remove  So, first I try some ice cubes to hopefully make the removal easier:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3046_rs22.jpg
It worked ok, but not the results I wanted especially with the mess from the melting ice. So, then I took the door out in the 30 degree weather and worked on it there for a few:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3048_rs22.jpg
Getting better, but still a lot of glue left :(
Today was time I did the 2nd door:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3053_rs22.jpg
Didn't want to go back outside to work on the door, ice cubes suck!!! ....so I went to the local grocery store and picked up 4 lbs of dry ice:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3056_rs22.jpg
This is really a PITA. But, I just keep telling myself it's got to be done so DO IT
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3065_rs22.jpg
Ended up crushing it down and feeding the door like a little baby:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3066_rs22.jpg
Here's what I ended up with at the end of the night. I'm hoping the glue that is left will harden over the next few days / week which is much easier to work with than the soft stage:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3068_rs22.jpg
And my $hithole living room :camera:

The Accord was due for an oil change and tire rotation. I knocked that out and thought I'd be ready to get back in the house since it was 40 degrees out. But, the double layer of clothing had me feeling good. So, I put some new gloves on and went to work.....

Session 7:
My main goal today was to disconnect everything from the motor so I can pull it very shortly and start the cleaning, prepping, and tuck. On to the pics:
Started with this:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3103_rs25.jpg
Removing the wire harnesses from the metal support brackets:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3109_rs22.jpg

3 bolts / 1 nut removed :gay: Most likely going to remove the entire exhaust since I am thinking about removing the motor from the bottom:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3128_rs22.jpg
Got to check out Tom's "How-To remove an axle" thread:

Looking at where I want to mount the fuse box:

Will water come into the car with that large opening?
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3139_rs22.jpg
Which hole should I use to run my wiring for the tuck?
A = approximately 1 1/4"

Spent 30+ minutes working on the 2 axle nuts that were dented in from a mad man (other nut was worst) :taun:

Damn:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3157_rs22.jpg
I also read that the metal on the axle nuts is so soft that a strong impact can remove the nuts with the indention intact. So, I'll give it a try next round....
Picked these up today for $20 (going to need them; broke one above is an el cheapo):

Here we go with Session 9:
Fooled around with these axle nuts for about an hour the other day and still they did not come off. Fired up the air compressor and after 15 seconds had the following results:

Last fluid to be removed:

Time to remove the axles. Castle nut:

Cotter pin on the way out:

I am going to remove the LCA ball joints for a friend to fix the threads. I could not get either of the castle nuts to re thread on either ball joint. I won't be able to move the car tomorrow to clean her up. I'll just find something else to do instead and hopefully next week I will have the wheels on to roll her outside for a good bath!!!

Here we go with Session 10:
Since my balljoints are screwed I decided to get inside and work on the wiring. I want to start prepping for the interior paint.
Started with this:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3301_rs23.jpg
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3303_rs23.jpg
First I removed the radio antenna since my hatch has a giga mp3 player :dj:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3304_rs23.jpg
Then it was time to remove the clips that hold the fuel pump, optional rear speakers, and seat belt warning wires. Never did figure out how to properly remove them, but the panel tool got them out (some in pieces):
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3308_rs23.jpg
Is it ok if I remove the seatbelt wiring? I'm actually just going to hide it when I reloom the wiring inside. I put the seat belt on without thinking so I don't need the indicator on the cluster.
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3312_rs23.jpg
4 screws hold the fuel pump cover:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3305_rs23.jpg
Once removed disconnect the 2 harnesses:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3335_rs23.jpg
Using the butt end of a screwdriver push the grommet out:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3336_rs23.jpg
It started raining so I put some dirty parts outside for a free wash:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3326_rs23.jpg
Washer screwed on the seat belt. Don't plan to use them again so it's all good:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3321_rs23.jpg
Onto the parking brake. Pretty straight forward to remove:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3313_rs23.jpg
I'm a picture whore :camera: so here is a close-up of the e-brake indicator wire:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3314_rs23.jpg
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3325_rs23.jpg
At each end is tape that you can slit:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3329_rs23.jpg
Then you split 'er open:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3330_rs23.jpg
Once you remove both harness covers you'll have some red clips left behind. The panel tool pulled these out without damaging them (yeah the ones I won't need) :tongue1:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3328_rs23.jpg
Got to remove the rest of the center console:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3337_rs23.jpg
Disgusting ECU holder. I'll have to clean that up if I am to reuse it:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3340_rs23.jpg
Reminder to get some more dry ice:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3348_rs23.jpg
Got to see about removing the right stalk since I won't have a wiper system:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3351_rs23.jpg
Bag of gold:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3342_rs23.jpg
The gold:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3357_rs23.jpg
About ready to sand for paint. Still got to get the glue on the floorboard up:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3343_rs23.jpg
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3344_rs23.jpg
I couldn't work in the back area of the car because the rain was blowing into the garage. Shouldn't take too long to remove the rear hatch wiring:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3345_rs23.jpg
Basically that is 6 weeks of work above for me. I work a lot of hours and take LOTS of pics so I'm not getting too much done. Plus I don't even have the K20 yet, weather is too cold to paint..... so it's all good
I have enjoyed the build so far and can't wait until I get to work on her again :bump:

Thanks guys for the feedback.
Today was 70+ degrees and not a cloud in the sky. So I spent some time in the garage :bump: I removed the GC/Koni's from the rear and installed the OEM suspension. Once the suspension was installed I rolled her outside:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3456_rs23.jpg
Time to start removing $hit so I can start prepping for paint
Charcoal canister OUT:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3465_rs23.jpg
To bring the wire harness back into the car you'll need to remove the grommet by pushing or pulling it from the hole:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3490_rs23.jpg
Everything fit through the hole to get back into the cabin:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3493_rs23.jpg
Most likely going to remove this dead weight and rewrap the harness:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3495_rs23.jpg
Push the drivers side grommet into the cabin and reel the harness in:

Back of the EGR valves:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3501_rs23.jpg
I had no intention of removing the brake lines, but after easily breaking the first line.... there was no turning back:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3508_rs23.jpg
Removing the master cylinder:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3523_rs23.jpg
I need to figure out how to remove these lines that go to the rear of the car:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3536_rs23.jpg
How she sits at the end of today:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3535_rs23.jpg
What I removed today (yes the brake lines are labled to where they go) :screwy: :
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3540_rs23.jpg
I didn't get a chance to clean her up  Got to get the brake booster out, rest of the lines, and slave cylinder. Then I'll start prepping the bay for paint :

lol yeah i can 2nd that... its alot of work... better off just taping off and coving off the lines that run to the rear if you dont want to remove then...ive helped Li a few times and you should drop the subframe when you paint it... it helps you get every last sppot....

Thanks for the info guys about removing the lines and subframe :goodjob:
No work since last post, but I did scoop some supplies that should be very helpful:
This is what I will be using to keep the metal edges from touching any wiring:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3718_rs23.jpg
It's called chicken run and comes in 12" pieces. You can see the entire piece(s) sitting on top of the heat shrink from Harbor Freight. The crank pulley tool, chicken run, and scotch pads were picked up from other places (the rest Harbor Freight).
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3720_rs25.jpg
I think I found the solution to door glue removal:

I was hoping to have the Karcepts shifter kit cut out completed by the end of the day. That didn't happen since I ran into a couple obstacles.
Karcept's shift kit hardware:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3726_rs25.jpg
Make sure the 2 little brackets are correct:
(Note the laptop in the background / it was outside as I worked -- the instructions are about as detailed as you can get :goodjob:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3728_rs25.jpg
Template mounted and 2 holes marked for drilling:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3733_rs25.jpg
Pop's gave this to me as a X-mas gift as well as a few other Harbor Freight goodies. Awesome punch:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3735_rs25.jpg
Drilling the holes:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3736_rs25.jpg
The rear mount bracket was a little wide as you can see in the pic:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3739_rs23-1.jpg
I marked what needed to be trimmed off:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3748_rs25-1.jpg
And started trimming with my Harbor Freight polisher/sander (hopefully the neighbors didn't see the camera/tripod when I was taking work in progress pics :screwy:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3752_rs25.jpg
Much better fit:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3753_rs23.jpg
Not sure if I need to trim some off the right side so the left side will sit flush. Karcepts said the gap should pull out fine once the hardware is installed and tightened down. Great service with Karcepts
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3764_rs25.jpg
Waiting on a router bit to slot the holes. Once slotted I will finish the kit with the cut out.
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_3771_rs23.jpg
While waiting I have scrubbed most of the engine bay with a toothbrush. I am going to remove the subframe / steering rack for cleaning/paint + better paint job in bay! Then it's time to start prepping for paint

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/IMG_2346_rs25.jpg
Is it ok to remove the brown glue or is that a sealer? Should I just clean it up really well, hit it with some sand paper lightly, and paint over it?? (Pic below)

Pass side removed:

Ok, spent a lot of time in the garage today, snapped a lot of pics, and feel like I accomplished a good bit.
How do you remove the hood lever clip without damaging it?
I may go with hood dampners, but not 100% yet.
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20015/IMG_4003_rs25.jpg
Reminder that I need to really clean this car up:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20015/IMG_3979_rs25.jpg
4 bolts / 1 cotter pin to remove the brake booster:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20015/IMG_3985_rs25.jpg
Then I remembered I should start draining the gas from the tank while it's early. So I just loosened the drain plug just enough to get a stream going:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20015/IMG_3991_rs25.jpg
Removing the clutch slave cylinder.
2 bolts / 1 cotter pin to remove the assembly:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20015/IMG_3996_rs22.jpg
Brake booster / clutch cylinder removed:
Paint is blingin' underneath :o
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20015/IMG_4000_rs25.jpg
Undercarriage is reall nasty. Goal is to clean it up really well and apply some type of overcoat.
Dropping the gas tank:
Remove the banjo bolt and disconnect the hose:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20015/IMG_4024_rs25.jpg
After I drained the tank I placed a jack in the center and dropped the 2 straps that secure the tank:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20015/IMG_4025_rs25.jpg
Then I removed the 3 plastic covers that protect the fuel system / fill up neck:
(one of the 3)
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20015/IMG_4026_rs22.jpg
I loosened this bolt to disconnect the filler neck from the tank:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20015/IMG_4034_rs25.jpg
Panels removed and filler neck exposed:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20015/IMG_4040_rs23.jpg
Further up the filler neck:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20015/IMG_4038_rs23.jpg
Remove the (4) 10mm bolts to release the filler neck. Pull the grommet out and the neck drops down with the tank:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20015/IMG_4037_rs25.jpg

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20015/IMG_4071_rs25.jpg
Really nasty, but that will change:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20015/IMG_4080_rs23.jpg
4 bolts secure the rack to the crossmember:

Crossmember removal:
5 bolts on each side to remove:
(All 5 are shown in the pic below)

Big a$$ bolts that hold the crossmember:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20015/IMG_4060_rs25.jpg
Remove the (2) 14mm suspension bolts as well as the (2) 17mm upper control arm bolts and the crossmember is ready to be removed:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20015/IMG_4023_rs25.jpg
There are quite a few 10mm bolts that hold the brake/fuel line assembly that runs to the rear of the vehicle:

Then I removed all the grommets from the bay. Must of been 12:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20015/IMG_4014_rs25.jpg

Thanks for the comments again guys!!
Session 016.
Worked mostly with the rear of the vehicle. Pretty much finished removing the rear wiring, hatch glass, hatch door, tail lights, bumper, etc.....
First thing I did was removed my JDMSh!t duckbill.
To remove the hatch glass just remove the (4) 10mm nuts:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20016/IMG_4089_rs25.jpg
Up close of one side:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20016/IMG_4090_rs25.jpg
Then it was time to remove the tail lights:
(4) 8mm bolts per light:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20016/IMG_4091_rs25.jpg
Underneath still clean from April 2006 detailing. Damn right:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20016/IMG_4092_rs25.jpg
Inner tail(s) has 4 bolts as well:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20016/IMG_4093_rs25.jpg
Did not remove the hatch gasket/seal because I was not sure exactly how it was held in place. I have learned that it's just held by glue and should pull right off without any problems:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20016/IMG_4094_rs25.jpg
Close up of the rubber:
It's on there really well
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20016/IMG_4095_rs25.jpg
These clips are for the panels that will never make it back to my car. They were a major PITA to remove. I never did figure out how to remove them with ease. I just squeezed and pulled with 2 sets of pliers:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20016/IMG_4097_rs25.jpg
Then I removed the hatch release:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20016/IMG_4099_rs25.jpg
Removed the latch and release lever:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20016/IMG_4101_rs25.jpg
I pulled and pulled on the damn tail gate harness and then realized why it would not come out. Damn license plate lights:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20016/IMG_4125_rs25.jpg
Remove the bolts shown to remove the tail gate from the car:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20016/IMG_4112_rs25.jpg
Disconnecting the fuel door release wire:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20016/IMG_4140_rs25.jpg
Pop the little ring off:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20016/IMG_4143_rs25.jpg
Took me a while to figure out how to remove the black lever. It's really simple once you know what to do. Simply go inside the hatch area to the lever, grab ahold and twist to the left and it will come right out like so:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20016/IMG_4145_rs22.jpg
Might as well remove the door:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20016/IMG_4179_rs25.jpg
Removing the last line:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20016/IMG_4147_rs25.jpg
Entire rear wiring harness wrapped up and ready for install one day in the future:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20016/IMG_4149_rs25.jpg
What the hell is the plastic cup thing for?? Hatch leakage??
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20016/IMG_4151_rs25.jpg
My Lowes rear bumper hardware:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20016/IMG_4152_rs25.jpg
Screw that holds the Vx drivers side wind difuser in place:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20016/IMG_4154_rs25.jpg
Hatch removed, and then I removed the 2 bolts to remove the latches:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20016/IMG_4161_rs25.jpg
Removed the 4 grommets that are around the rear bumper:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20016/IMG_4165_rs25.jpg
Side skirt clip:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20016/IMG_4172_rs25.jpg
Rotate to remove:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20016/IMG_4173_rs25.jpg
I need some advice on how to remove this piece. It's the metal piece that sits in the middle of the car which allows the back seat to fold up and down. I will not ever have a back seat again, so I would like to remove this piece:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20016/IMG_4174_rs25.jpg
spot welds?:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20016/IMG_4175_rs25.jpg
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20016/IMG_4176_rs25.jpg
A better view of the piece:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20016/IMG_4177_rs25.jpg
Back to the front of the car I went. Got outside and this fool started messing with me. I walked away for a few and when I came back he was back. So, let this be a warning to all the haters..... don't be another statisitic for messing with me or my hatch :police:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20016/IMG_4190_rs25.jpg
I can't go all out with new interior and engine bay paint and leave the crossmember as is. So I decided to go to work on it:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20016/IMG_4180_rs25.jpg
Remove the one bolt and basically it's dismantled:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20016/IMG_4188_RS25.jpg
Further back view of the bolt:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20016/IMG_4189_rs25.jpg
Dismantled for cleaning:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20016/IMG_4196_rs25.jpg
Left = Clean!
Right = Not!

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20016/IMG_4203_rs25.jpg
Still not clean enough so I will be putting a nice coat of paint on the assembly!!
Neighbors got to love seeing this all the time, lol:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20016/IMG_4204_rs25.jpg
Then I was like how the hell am I going to move the hatch now without anything up front. Answer:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20016/IMG_4206_rs25.jpg
Interior ready to start prepping for paint (as soon as I remove the rubber hatch seal):
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20016/IMG_4207_rs25.jpg
I'm not messing with the wiring under the dash. Since I am not doing a color change I am leaving them as is and will just tape everything off. However, I will be removing the pedal assemblies so I can get the paint up as high as possible:

Here we go:
Session 019:
Figured I'd go ahead and get some practice with spot welds before trying to remove the tranny mount :P

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20017/IMG_4218_rs23.jpg
2 spot welds. This one is cake:

Then I figured it was time to work on the Karcepts shifter kit.
I put the shift plate back in place to make sure the markings to slot the holes were accurate. Then I found my stash of rotary files. This one would be perfect:

Cutout marked:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20017/IMG_4239_rs25.jpg
Here's what I'll be using:
(Got to love HF  )
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20017/IMG_4242_rs25.jpg
Then after condensation coming out of my drill gun I figured it was time to install the water / oil filter on the compressor:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20017/IMG_4244_rs25.jpg
The local auto store would not take my gasoline I drained from the gas tank so I have been burning it in a barrel which I use to burn my spam papers from snail mail. I had the bottle to close to the barrel and the damn thing caught on fire (this jug is gas and oil). I thought for sure the house was going to burn down because the oil spilled onto the ground and there was a big fire. When I came back with the water hose which I had to get out of the garage, take to the faucet, hook up, and drag across the yard, the fire was out :o God was looking after me today =)
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20017/IMG_4248_rs25.jpg
Seem like it was going to take forever with the 3" cutter:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20017/IMG_4251_rs25.jpg
But once you get through the metal just slice it down the seam:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20017/IMG_4253_rs23.jpg

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20017/IMG_4255_rs25.jpg
And after about 30 minutes (fumes would get bad after a minute so I would have to get out) on the same blade:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20017/IMG_4256_rs25.jpg
Out:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20017/IMG_4257_rs25.jpg

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20017/IMG_4270_rs25.jpg
About a pound out:

Removing the gas and brake pedal assembly.
Everything you remove to get the assembly out of the vehicle is 12mm. This is assuming you have the brake booster and clutch slave cylinder removed already.

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20020/IMG_4415_rs25.jpg
Still have some more cleaning to do as well. I'm going to pull the entire rear suspension off for cleaning and undercoat everything including the wheel wells :bump:
Got tired of cleaning the rear so I decided to switch things up a bit and clean the bay.
My brother recommended AJAX, so that is what I used:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20020/IMG_4405_rs25.jpg
Get it on there nice and good:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20020/IMG_4406_rs25.jpg
How do I remove this clip? It's located in the corner below the brake booster:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20020/IMG_4408_rs25.jpg
Then I was curious about the stains in the engine bay and decided to test a spot by sanding it down after cleaning:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20020/IMG_4416_rs25.jpg
Then I went to work with my razor blade removing the residue from the cowl opening below the windshield:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20020/IMG_4409_rs25.jpg
That's it for now. I'll be back hopefully soon with some more pics :camera:
Thanks for looking :police:

Session 021.
Not to much done, but took care of more cleaning. My buddy was over at the house so not much work:
Dirty front under splash and gas tank / filler neck plastic panels:

I need to know if am I removing gunk, oil, crap or is that OEM coating that I am removing from the gas tank below:

After hearing the 3m undercoating is no that great I am now leaning towards a nice coat of primer and battleship gray for the under carriage / fender wells
I'll be back later to post the next session which will be 51 pictures :camera:

Yeh, no joke!
I think that is oem coating on the gas tank. Is it rubbery like? It may be to protect the gas tank and help debris bounce off better. IDK for sure though. Keep up the good work!

Thanks guys for the props! Yeah, found out the $hit I was getting ready to remove is the protectant on the tank :police:
As far as cleaning the plastic pieces. Pretty much just engine degreaser and some elbow grease
Here we go, Session 022:

Session 023:
I removed the rear driver wheel and went straight to the camber bolt problem. Surprisingly it loosened up with no problem using the BAMFBB
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20023/IMG_4580_rs25.jpg
Then I started removing the other 5 bolts that attach each rear corner to the car:
14mm toe adjustment bolt:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20023/IMG_4581_rs25.jpg
Toe bolt on the left and 17mm mid trailer arm bolt on the right. The other 17mm bolt is on the opposite side of the trailing arm:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20023/IMG_4583_rs25.jpg
There are a few 10mm bolts that hold the ebrake cables in place. You can see 2 of them in the pic below:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20023/IMG_4584_rs25.jpg
Blurrry pic of the 14mm bolt you'll need to remove on the inner part of the Lower Control Arm (LCA):
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20023/IMG_4584_rs25.jpg
Don't forget to remove the brake line clip. Just grip one side with pliers and wiggle it back towards the outside of the car:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20023/IMG_4588_rs25.jpg
This is all that holds the rear corner in place:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20023/IMG_4591_rs23.jpg
Is this supposed to be crooked like that:
(I'm assuming so. But, since I did not own this car for the first 11 years of its life I have to ask)
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20023/IMG_4592_rs23.jpg
DumpeD:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20023/IMG_4593_rs25.jpg
Looks so pitiful
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20023/IMG_4599_rs25.jpg
So, I don't forget what bolts went where:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20023/IMG_4607_rs25.jpg
Removed the LCA, camber arm, and toe arm (I don't know their official names):
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20023/IMG_4615_rs25.jpg
Now, I have to clean this up. I want to disassemble the assembly. Is there anything I need to be aware of? I will just dive in by removing bolts if there is nothing to worry about. I plan to clean everything up, repaint the trailing arm, lca, toe arm, and camber arm. I'm even thinking about replacing the trailing arm bushing why it's all apart. May run it by Tom and see if he can do it for me since I don't have the tool.
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20023/IMG_4618_rs25.jpg
Besides the glass, windshield and roof molding, and engine/dash wiring harness, steering wheel there is nothing else to remove
Thanks for all the feedback :goodjob:

Thanks for all the props guys. Just gave out +1's to you all where it would let me.
Internet has been acting up the last few days. Put a little work in the past couple days. Here we go Session 024:
Past due to clean the rear end:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20024/IMG_4793_rs25.jpg
Engine degreaser, tooth brush, and elbow grease FTW:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20024/IMG_4794_rs25.jpg
Ah, up close there is still some residue :2up:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20024/IMG_4797_rs25.jpg
So, I went to AutoZone and Wal-Mart for some paint.
For the suspension & crossmember:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20024/IMG_4798_rs25.jpg
For the under carriage, gas tank, and fender wells:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20024/IMG_4800_rs25.jpg
First thing was the gas tank. When I cleaned the tank I also removed a lot of the OEM undercoating
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20024/IMG_4805_rs25.jpg
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20024/IMG_4806_rs25.jpg
So I used one of the 3m rubberized coating cans (It's not recommended, but since I already had it on hand figure I'd try one out). And it just so happens 3m sent me a response about the dry weight of the undercoating:
Definitely not as thick as the OEM gunk:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20024/IMG_4807_rs25.jpg
Some close ups (3 light coats):

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20024/IMG_4809_rs25.jpg
Let it dry for about 2 hours then decided it was time to lay some paint down. Free paint stand FTW :bump:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20024/IMG_4820_rs25.jpg

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20024/IMG_4824_rs25.jpg

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20024/IMG_4828_rs25.jpg

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20024/IMG_4833_rs25.jpg

Where they will sit for the next few days. Then I will be painting the back side:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20024/IMG_4836_rs25.jpg

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20024/IMG_4837_rs25.jpg
That's all for now. Hope to paint the crossmember within a couple days  Still need to pull the RTA apart and clean them up for paint and new bushings.
Thanks for looking :goodjob:

Session 025:
I haven't done to much lately. I guess it seems that way because the disassembling of the car is complete. I have been cleaning and painting miscallenous parts. I hope to have most of the parts painted this week. Started ordering parts for the swap and I will post pics as they arrive. I also may have found a swap now. I'll also keep you guys posted with that.
I was pretty happy with the way the engine enamel paint laid down on the front LCA assembly so I moved on to the crossmember.
Nasty:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20025/IMG_4839_rs25.jpg
Hit the 2 ends with the Rustoleum silver:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20025/IMG_4842_rs25.jpg
I let it sit in the house for a few days. Can recommended 48 hours:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20025/IMG_4844_rs25.jpg

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20025/IMG_4871_rs25.jpg
Then it was back to engine degreaser, simple green, tooth brush, and elbow grease:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20025/IMG_4876_rs25.jpg

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20025/IMG_4879_rs25.jpg

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20025/IMG_4880_rs25.jpg

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20025/IMG_4881_rs23.jpg

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20025/IMG_4887_rs25.jpg
Here's the yellow you can see through where I painted the gas tank. I'm going to find some new paint for the undercarriage and return the unused Rust-oleum to Wal-Mart:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20025/IMG_4886_rs25.jpg

The Tundra is an awesome truck. Rides like a dream, no squeaks or rattles, and good power. The instrument panel and controls are nicely placed and very appealing at night. When I got back in my 2006 Accord LX I felt like I was getting back in the hatch from the Accord (when the hatch was running last year). The steering, power, and comfort is 10X better in the Tundra. If the gas mileage was not so bad I would have to consider this vehicle.
Enough of this before I end up selling the Accord.

WOW all this work you are doing and your painting the suspension parts and cross member. why?? you would be better off powder coating them. they would look 10x better and would last longer than paint. i mean as much time and money your putting in this whats a couple hundred more for powder coating. just my thought. cars going to look kick ass when your done forsure though. i give you props.

I never had the intention of removing everything and painting. I saw a build which did so and I just followed it..... Yeah, the powder coat will probably hold up better in the long run. But, there should not be much touching the suspension parts. Thanks for the props

Anyone know if the HASport mount looks to be located correctly for drilling?

I'm surprised no one mentioned about the hood latch clip error. I said & posted pics that the hod latch was removed by pulling back a thin sheet cover inside the top fender well. Well, that is true to remove the piece, but the piece removed that way is the windshield washer line clip that sits on top of the drivers shock tower. My mistake  :gay:
I present to you the proper way to remove the hood prop plastic clip:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20030/IMG_5195_cr_rs43.jpg

I read before that the interior wiring can be a PITA reinstalling if removed from the vehicle. Well, I took a look and after a couple minutes and a little poking I decided it can't be too difficult. So, I started removing it:

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20030/IMG_5223_rs32.jpg

Labeled all the bolts and clips. Should of used this method from the beginning:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20030/IMG_5229_rs32.jpg
And after about 5 minutes the harness was out:

Session 031:
First thing was to try and get the roof braces back in place with the roof. The sealer had a drying time of 2 hours so we wanted to get this out of the way.
Mixing the sealer:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20031/IMG_5268_rs32.jpg
Applying the sealer:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20031/IMG_5271_rs32.jpg
Held in place:

While the sealer cured, we started on the engine bay. I started sanding down the high studs from drilling:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20031/IMG_5275_rs32.jpg
Jason using the HF welder to fill a couple holes from the intake bracket:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20031/IMG_5277_rs32.jpg
A date I found on the drivers side where the a/c condensor used to be:
http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20031/IMG_5281_rs32.jpg

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o225/Hybrid93Hatch/Hybrid93Hatch%20K20a2%20build%20/Session%20031/IMG_5282_rs32.jpg
Then it was time to take care of the last 2 roof braces. The nozzle is only good for one session. With only one nozzle left we had to take of them together:

The original plan was just to lay a couple spot welds down and allow the sealer to do it's job. But, he put more than enough weld down to hold the the brackets alone:

Tomorrow we will be sanding the interior, welding a couple small holes shut, and removing a couple of brackets that are not needed.

"Tapping" the camber bolts. Earlier in the thread I posted about how one of the bolts would not seat entirely.

I couldn't remember which 1 of 4 was messed up, so I tapped all 4 and now they work beautifully  Probably go with automotive bolts (10.9) grade as the replacement.

Brave man to weld in shirtless, with shorts, and between your legs! Ouch! watchout for the splatter!

The outcome is not up to par with SneezinCD5 so the bay will be sanded down and repainted in a paint booth. The dust and overspray was terrible. The initial plan was to paint the entire car in the garage, but not going to happen now. The average Joe would most likely be happy with the garage job, but too much work is going into this to settle for anything less than a clost to perfect paint job.
Enough jabber, here is the work:
