Yeah, I've been told half the wires are not needed with the K swap. So after Nopi I am going to pull the harness from the car and remove / depin EVERY wire not needed. I hear it's close to 20lbs :yes: :cheers: :bump:

You will need a clamp for the hose connection on the head (right). The connection on the left is VERY tight and should be fine without a clamp. Of course a clamp would never hurt....

there's a lot of weird shit like that on the K. One thing that eternally pisses me off is my upper rad hose sitting ON my intake pipe right before the TB.

what are you pulling out of the harness? I'm assuming this is more of a 'race only' car, since you're deleting AC and heat. I'm sure all the emissions related stuff, but what else?

After hearing the 3m undercoating is no that great I am now leaning towards a nice coat of primer and battleship gray for the under carriage / fender wellsVery good decision, as meticulous and detail oriented as you are a really good coat of paint will be better than textured undercoating that just collects and holds grime and road debri. I can see you now polishing and waxing underneath :tongue:

Wish there was a way we could get the undercarriage paint from Europe, it's a paint mixed with Teflon and sprayed on...virtually nothing can stick to it and if it does just a simple rinse with light water pressure takes it off. Due to EPA regulations it's not legal here though :(

Well, the car is going to be far from a daily driver. It's being built for speed but mostly so to enjoy on my days off when I want to rip around town. I plan to track the car in both drag and auto-x for strictly pleasure.....
Since the car is being built for speed I am removing as much as possible. I will be removing all the unused wires from the wire harness and of course I will have pics of the entire process. This is something that will most likely take place close to winter.....

As far as the hose being close to the header. I'm going to take a look tomorrow and if it's close I may shorten the loop :goodjob:

Here is the tranny mount installed. Most likely going to leave the 2 OEM studs for now. Probably go back after the show and remove them to install the 2 HASport bolts for a cleaner look:

HASport supplied a spacer for the tranny mount, but looks like they have added it to the mount now. So, the spacer is not needed:

Got tired of fooling with the wiring, so I jumped to the seat. The hardware store only had enough for one seat, so one seat was completed. Man, it was a b!tch. Took me at least an hour to put together. $hit has to be lined perfectly or got to loosen the bolts and adjust :doh:

So, I am trying to figure out my fuel setup. Mainly where I am going to mount the fpr. I'm thinking of mounting the fuel filter on the firewall under the prop valve. Also, need to figure out what fittings (bends) to get. I know I want ALL black ones :yes: :bump:

Dont use that fuel filter its not designed for high pressure systems. You spent all this money go and buy an 80 dollar aeromotive filter and use two radiator hose clamps to mount it to the firewall.

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up on the progress. I apologize for not posting the session pics. Just don't have much time these days. But, I do promise that I am taking pics and will have them posted eventually :cheers: :camera:

I don't think the car will be ready to tune this coming Tuesday due to a few parts I am still lacking. Looking at Thursday or at latest first thing Friday morning.

We finished the entire suspension today and have the axles mounted to the tranny and inserted in the hubs.

I have to source a 36mm socket tomorrow to tighten the axle nuts down and also need to get OEM half shaft bolts (3) before driving her.

The fuel filter anf FPR are mounted as well as the fuel rail.

One power wire has been extended and have to extend one more and add the 2 fuse box power wire.

The O2 sensor is soldered / heat shrinked as well as the 3 other wires but I forget what they are for at the moment.

Still need the D or B series harness to wire them in and plug the sensors in. Hopefully have the Mon or Tues.

So tomorrow we are looking at:

--Extend 2nd power wire on charge harness and add 2nd fuse box power wire
--Install fuel lines and fittings
--Install radiator, both hoses, and Hasport sensor unit in upper hose
--Drill eye bolts for seat harness

Probably some other things, but I am way to tired to think now.

I have a couple of questions:

1) There are 3 openings on the Aeromotive FPR. The opening on the left side is for fuel to enter. The bottom opening is for the return line back to the tank. What about the 3rd opening on the right side?!?! Am I supposed to plug that opening?

2) Is this brake fluid good for our cars? I'll get OEM $hit if I have to, but if this will work then I'll use it for now.

3)What is that little black fitting coming off the top of the coolant line (just below the green evap port)? 3B) What should I put on it? 3C) What about the threaded hole just below the valve cover gasket just below where you see the excess gasket sealer? What is that for? 3D) Also, you can just see it in the pic, but in the top right that adapter coming off the valve cover. I see some connect it to a catch can. I plan to add a catch can shortly, but what can I do with that pipe for now?

turned out well....just curious are you planning on going oem w/ the turn signal/headlights as well? the aftermarket stuff just looks out of place with everything else so clean

The car turned out really good! There's a few things I disagree with (like the heliums! this ride should have mAd JdM TyTE rims YO LOL). EG headlights with citylights would set this ride off rather than the black housing ones. Also, factory JDM clear corners would look alot cleaner than those vision "style" corner. Besides that, car instantly jumped to top of the eg game!
