they've had a lot of problems with the server lately but i know they're working on getting it back to normal as soon as possible. chris was also out of town this past weekend and he's the one that usually has to try and fix it.

i'm really not sure if they've looked into that or not...the odd thing is that it's hosted by the same place as a few other sites that andy has made (driftmechaniks, andysapp.com, etc) and none of those have had these issues, but hopefully we'll get it all figued out soon enough.

Sorry fellas. I don't know what the hell is going on with SEDAs site. Over the last couple of weeks its been getting progressivly worse and now its dead all together. But what confuses me is that its only the forum; the main page is still up and functional. Either way...I sent DotEasy (our host) a Tech Support Ticket earlier this morning and they are supposed to respond within the next 24hrs; hopefully. I tried to fix it myself with no luck. Its up to Dot Easy to fix it now.
As far as switching servers is concerned......we were going to merge with Drift 411 on a dedicated server, but we never heard back from them. So I guess we are going to see what DotEasy can do. If worst comes to worst...we'll get the dedicated server solo style.

in the mean time....you all can check out SEDA's board on MySpace.com for any updates:::

edit: it seems that the site is back up. I'm not sure how reliable it is, but atleast its up.

good news....the forum is back up.
However, its been decided....we're moving to a new server. Import Atlanta has a dedicated server which they are willing to share with us. SO we will be migrating to their server in the very near future.
Huge thanks to Paul for helping us out

awesome! thank you again.
we are eager to move. Our current server is extremely unpredictable and unstable. I've contacted our host several times but they just gave me the run around.

Anyway....I'm emailing you our FTP info so that you can check our bandwidth. In the future, feel free to contact me directly ([email protected]). I am, for the most part, in charge of SEDA forum and have most, if not all, the info that you'll need for the switch.

just an email I received from our host concerning our issues with site speed and crashing:

"Hello Chris,

We have checked our server functionality and it is working properly at
this time. The reason you may not be able to connect to the server is
because of the extremely high usage generated by your website causing a
consumption of most server resources affecting the other sites on your
server. It appears that the server is responding to requests, but your
browser is timing out before the request is completed.

Because of the usage generated from your website, it appears that you
have exceeded the capabilities of a shared hosting service and you may
wish to consider the use of a dedicated server for your hosting needs. A
dedicated server is a complete server is provisioned specifically for
your use and not shared by other customers. It offers the performance
benefits of having the full resources of a server for your website use.
These servers also include SPAM and virus filtering for emails and also
user level whitelist and blacklisting.

Our partner company In2net Network (www.in2net.com) offers dedicated
server services for about US$100.00 per month. They will also offer a
special offer to Doteasy customers by waiving the setup fee. If you are
interested in a dedicated server, you may contact In2net Network directly

If you have any other questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to

well, I saw Paul this past thursday and gave him a CD with our entire site on it. since then, SEDA has surpassed its bandwidth limitations and was shut down again :( So, basically its up to Paul as to when SEDA will be up and running again.

yikes... Paul's got a lot of work cut out for him just trying to keep up with IA... I can't see him having the time to keep up with both...

true....he told me that he is slammed with work which unfortunate for us. However, Paul doesn't have to keep up with SEDA....just upload to his server and set the Server Names. I can take care of the rest.
