I do not want to get in trouble with Admin for this post (sponsors and what not) but, I am fulfilling a request from the VW/Audi GTG last weekend.

I spoke to Blair and he is open to the idea of a group buy on the APR software. He would like to get an idea on the number of people that would be interested. From this number he would be able to give us a better idea on any break.

Its fine but like i told everyone at Varsity i can get you guys a group buy on GIAC and EPG is located in Marietta, Brian and the guys are top notch guys, one tech is from Germany. This is probably one of the longest debates ever over software, but I have dyno'd against every chip including APR Race map and GIAC makes more power then every chip. Please see some of the other threads on the board if you need more info, but i have dyno sheets on every single chip on the SAME dyno. So there is not BS in the numbers they were all done by an independent shop that doesn't work on VW/AUDI. ;)

sorry for the thread hi-jack but EPG is a site sponsor and they are the GIAC dealer for GA

Admin you do not need to apologize for the thread high jack. I do have a question about the GIAC does it require a hand held device to change programs? The only person I know with the GIAC is a MkIV R32 and he has one to change programs.

they have a selector box if needed; but it isn't required.

Honestly your best bet to get an APR group buy together is on the vortex.

Here everyone pretty much swears by GIAC and as a plus EPG is a sponser as far as i know. Or atleast did the work on pauls old gti which is reason enough to go GIAC from what they did to that car. They also did my old 1.8T and it pulled on my buddys APR chiped car same basic mods just a diff DV. APR does do the 100 oct program and he pulled on me pretty good on that though cause he had the one that you can change the settings on the ecu.

I think GIAC does the same thing as far as switchin setups on the go but both are a good bit more than just getting one program flashed.

Go read my post again i think it came off wrong. Here is it in a nutshell

I think GIAC flashes for vws are the shit. And most people here feel the same way so better go look somewhere else for a groupbuy

So where again am I pushing APR other than being in the DurtyDubs. Dont get me wrong i know people with it and they are happy but i use to rag on them cause mine was faster with X+

heres the thing you go get APR your gonna wish you got GIAC X+ once you get rapped on the DYNO/STREET... the whp numbers are similar but GIAC makes hella more torque... i saw a APR on race map running c16 and it put down like 255-259?lbs... my X+ race map made 290lbs.

and for those who want to go BT Jon on here his APR Stg III made 264?whp/293?lbs and the guy w/ the silver Stg III+ at the last meet said he dyno'd 330?whp/290?lbs...

on a stock turbo mine did 225whp/290lbs in GIAC X+ race map running 104 unleaded. i know julio's tt did 225?whp/285?lbs w/ GIAC X+ alone. if i did a k04/e05 upgrade i know for a fact i would be making probably stgIII or more whp and definately more torque then both apr setups.

REAL numbers don't lie; there are different types of dynos some dyno low some dyno high... all of the number i just gave were done on the same dynos. if you check out www.giacusa.com (http://www.giacusa.com/) the numbers they post are lower then what you will get if you go run on a dynojet. i think i made like 10whp/15lbs more then what GIAC quotes on there site ;)

BEST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK GIAC X+!!! I ALREADY TALKED TO BRIAN AT EPG I CAN GET YOU GUYS A GROUP BUY ON SOFTWARE AND IF YOU WOULD LIKE I CAN SETUP GROUP BUY ON DYNO TIME AT BATLGROUND IF NEEDED AS WELL. :goodjob:

Really I have no use for a chip group buy since my 1.8T is now gone but Im down for a dyno day once my shit is all together. I took a baseline of what my car made before the swap so Im gonna want to hit the rollers again.
