cluster swap question....searched*

i got a cluster from a 90 civic lx today and i went to install it in my 90 civic dx and tach and gas/temp gauges dont work, dont know about speedo because i was parked in driveway. why would this be? its supposed to be a plug and play install isnt it? i did notice too that there is a plug with two wires on it ( blue and blue/white) that i have no where to plug into the new cluster...any advice please? anyone know of write-ups?

well i got this cluster from the pull a part on buford hwy which there is a possibility that it doesnt work but interior was dry and cover was still on dash....the blue plug was connected to a white plastic box type piece that snapped onto the backside of the old cluster just dont know what it is for. the new cluster didnt have the white plastic thing and no where to plug the blue plug into

I thought it would be plug and play??? are you sure its a 88-89 style and not a 90-91 because they are different.

yeah the more and more i think about it, it may very well be from an 89, if this is the case im selling it! 20 bucks and someone can have it! just because i cant use it....

i will swap it out for a right side mirror for my dx....will consider other trades i guess...
