So you are naming your shop Audio Connection? My shop was named that. I was on Buford Hwy in Doraville from 1993-2000. Atif knew the shop very well.
Looks like you are in Winder?

Looks like you are in Winder? It's not registered through the state unless they incorporated in 1981 under the name The Audio Connection, Inc. but it's since gone through Administrative dissolution/Revocation in 2005. No Inc, LLC, LLP, or anything under that name currently. :dunno:

It was a DBA of Kash Electronics. Then sold to Five Points Electronics. Was closed in 2000. That name is not used anymore. Hasn't been since 2000, so of course it should be totally open for use by anyone.
There is another Audio Connection here in GA also. Started in the late 90's. Macon or Columbus area if I remember correctly. Doesn't really matter, there can be a dozen small shops with the same name as long as they are in different cities, and as long as you don't have it trademarked across the state.

They were registered also back then. Don't know if they still exist anymore though.
You can have different entities using the same name. You get the license in your city or county - can't have 2 with the same name but different entities there - unless you are a state/national/worldwide entity.
But like I said, doesn't really matter. My old shop has been gone for years.....
BTW - there is an Audio ConnectionS in Atlanta.....

For some reason I really like how it turned out.

Thanks :) I'll try and change it around tonight/make another logo.

Changed it up real quick. And made AC blue just, because it's my favorite color. Lightened up the gradient to 50% and changed the dark grey to a lighter shade.
Btw if you do give discounts to IA peeps I might check it out getting a sub setup soon.
Here's the new one. Same logo just different colors. :)

They might not want to use a gradient. If they use the logo for a sign, they will want to keep the number of colors low, to keep the sign affordable. Something to conside when you are doing a logo for a brick-and-mortor store.

LoL yes of course I know since I took the pic...I have a secret though. Don't tell anyone that it's not really an automatic.
It's actually a supermatic, because it goes super fast :lmfao: :bump:
Hey photoshop is fun ;)

true, but depends on sign construction. there are plenty of creative ways to do it that would be almost identical in price to a single color version.
but generally gradients add cost, and increases cost of cut vynil stickers, business cards, letterhead and other general print work you might have.
Also remember people, these should most likly be done in pantone cmyk if you plan on gettin paid lol :D

^^ just to add to that. there is a huge advantage to design a logo in black & white only. color pallette should be kept in mind but it tends to distract people from the actual design when deciding. design tip, gradients suck. really.
vector ftw!

true for the most part. alot of inital design work is done in black and white, or simple colors that are given by the client.
and yes gradients suck for the most part, but the logo for the company i work at is gradient, i just did a hella nice sign if i dont say so myself. :D
so gradients are case by case basis.
and yes, art work should be done in vector, not bitmap. (not photoshop)

yes case by case. they have their place but it often gets over done or becomes too dominant. you can use thwem you just dont want it to be blatently obvious.

thats what i was hittin at in a previous post. i was saying decrease the range of the gradient. basically make the starting and ending hue not so different.
but i might give this a shot later tongiht for fun, havent had anything to do with illustrator in a couple months :(

didn't notice that...but it goest to show that gradients do work!!!
As far as reproduction for signs, banners, business cards, etc...no problem. I do full color work all day every day...I hardly do anything vector...
