Import Alliance 2007 Nashville TN Summer Meet July 14th and 15th

This year we are going real big! We are expecting atleast 1000 cars this year. Import Alliance is teaming up with multiple websites and crews including http://www.nicoclub.com (http://www.nicoclub.com/) and http://www.em1crew.com (http://www.em1crew.com/). We will be adding a lot of new information about the meet so make sure you come back to the first of ]this thread for additional information.

Last year we had people from 17 states come to our meet and are expecting people to caravan together this summer.

We will be posting up the starting places and routes of the caravans coming to Nashville for the Import Alliance 2007 meet.


We will be charging $1.00 per person for admittance to the meet. We are doing this to offset the price of the stadium. (Dig it out from under your seat)

The dates: July 14th and 15th.

On the 14th we will be kicking it in downtown Nashville partying and such!
There are races at the fairgrounds on Saturday night $5 to spectate $10 to race for all who are interested ill post the directions later. It's 8mins from the hotel.

The 15th is the actual meet!

Happenings at the meet:

1. We will be having seminars through out the day. We will have special guest speakers that will be giving demonstrations and talking about current topics.

2. There will be contests that people will be able to participate in during the day.

3. We are having a DynoDynamics dyno for everyone to test their cars (http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread/1873955#). It will cost $50.00 for 2 pulls.

4. We are also having a section for a swap meet. Please bring your parts for sale.

5. There will be local and national vendors at the meet showing off there products and services.

3-1/2 hours and it isn't a bad drive at all. There was a great turnout last year and some nice cars. there are 232 people signed up this year and I am sure more people will come. People are coming from all over the states. It is going to be awesome!!

I would go ahead and get your hotel. Last year there was a hotel everyone stayed at. Depending on how many people actually go you may have trouble finding somewhere.

I'll bring up the tail of the caravan in my Beat - highway speeds are mad high RPM's for the little guy, so I barely break 70 MPH.

Thats what I would be scared of most with that amount of ppl in a caravan is people getting out of hand.

And by footage i didnt mean racing, i was talking about having the lead car pull in the left lane and everyone pass him as the passenger got footage of each car coming by. Seen it done on quite a few trip vids and thought it would be pretty sweet for this as well.

It's funny...now that I'm faster and have all the mods, I'm not at all competitive...people pull up and rev, and I just laugh and waive, and it's faster than my car EVER was by a LONG shot. Plus brakes and susp...

Tatiana - I MAY be able to deal with having you in my car. Depends if you get on my nerves. I'm sure either myself or my buddy will have room to carry a passenger, though. I can't make any Varsity meets until this summer, though...

I can probrably lead the caravan as long as I can get the directions to the stadium, getting into Nashville is no problem for me though cuz I've passed there too many times lol.

For a place to meet I'd say Pleasant Hill BP since it has a large parking lot...but I'm thinking the best place since it's closer to where we're headed is the BP off Barrett Parkway (Kennessaw). It's the one that's in front of the Costco, and everyone meet in the Costo parking lot for us to roll out.

So where should we meet? EvasiveEF9 has suggested the WalMart on Barrett Pkwy as opposed to the Costco - he knows the area better and says it will be easier to get out of. It's right off the highway on I-75N and is north of ATL, which is the direction we're headed. I'm sure some folks are going to have to head south to get to the meet point, but everyone can't be pleased, and this is north of ATL and most of the suburbs.

It's roughly 230 miles from the Wal-Mart to the Holiday Inn Express in Nashville (i google map'd "6520 Earnest Barrett Parkway
Marietta, GA 30064 to 920 Broadway, Nashville, TN 37203"). I say we stop at or near the halfway point to refuel - I know I can get a max of around 180 miles out of my car at highway speeds before needing to refuel. Maybe we could plan one stop just north of Chattanooga at around the 90-100 mile mark?

We also need to set up a time... I would like to be heading up Saturday morning sometime, hopefully leaving no later than Noon.

1. Everyone get hand-radios. You don't need an incredibly long range as we can relay messages amongst the group, but go to walmart, spend the 40$ on a pair (split the cost with another driver...hell, get it at the walmart we meet at before we head out of ATL). It'll be a blessing, trust me. Everyone can radio if they get a flat, need gas, see a cop ahead or tailing, etc etc.

2. Meet at the Walmart. Not only do you have to think about the size of the parking lot, but think about highway access. You DO NOT want to try to keep that many cars together heading out from Costco, and BP has a small parking lot. It's much easier to access the highway going out the back of Walmart and taking Chastain up to 75. Anyone familiar with the area I think will agree.

Honestly, I'd say make a time, and everyone meet up at walmart. The BP nearby has the cheapest gas, so my route is going to be hitting the BP, maxxing out my tank, and heading to walmart. A time should be set...if you're not at walmart before that time..sorry, but we're leaving without you. I wouldn't even accept a call-up saying "Hey, i"m running 20 minutes late, please don't leave." If you're late, try to gain your distance and catch up to us on the highway... At the set leave-time, have a driver's meeting. Say "this is the route, this is where we plan to stop, turn radios to channel ___, stay off the radios unless it's needed, everyone be safe. Keep an eye on the guy ahead and behind you, don't lose anyone." and head out from there through the back of walmart.

Just my 2cents, ladies and gents...do with it what you will.

1. I have Nextel. I'm sure a bunch of folks out there do. Isn't it possible to set up a group thing on Nextel? If not, I might be willing to spring for a set of hand radios, but I can NOT run over about 70-75 MPH in my car - it's at 6,000 RPM @ 72 mph, so if this is going to be a BTW (balls to the wall) 100+ MPH highway run, count me out. I'll be participating in a legal caravan traveling at near speed limit or 10 over.

I'm Ben. I'm 5'9, and 21years old. I drive a 91 civic hatch that's built for curves, I hate show, and I'm looking for another project car to build. Probably an FR chassis, or a sandrail from 72. I may get bored and do an old muscle car, though. I'm single. Brown hair, hazel eyes. Military haircut as I'm in the corps, athletic build because I'm in the corps. By the corps, I mean the corps of cadets at NGC in Dahlonega Ga. I like long walks on the beach, and runs in the mountains. I hate the cold, btu I love the snow for boarding and skiing. I prefer a hot tub over a pool, but on a hot day I love a pool with a diving board.

Agreed, it does make it more worth while, but at the same time...shows just get boring after a while. I mostly go now just for the vendors and see people I know, and occasionally meet new people

Speaking of...I heard rumors NOPI won't be coming to Atlanta this year. I heard it was because it wasn't making enough money? This is contrary to my overhearing Atlanta was their biggest and best stop...and that if you were going to ANY NOPI shows, make it the one in atlanta...especially considering their shop is a few miles down the road.

That would be crazy...they made it from around $50 in 2005 to $85 in 2006...so if they're not making any money...then they'd probrably raise the price to $100 lol.

But last year I am pretty sure that they raised the price to cover the "arists" they hired for the concerts. So hopefully they will kill the concerts and lower the ticket prices back to $50

It will not be the normal 100-200 car meet. This will be the largest meet in the country. The only difference between this and a car show is that we are not giving prizes and it is only $1.00 per person to help pay for the event. There will be plenty to do with the seminars and all of the stuff we have planned.

Stickers for what? Import Alliance is a meet, not a car club meet.

About the caravan, there should be a few small caravans that eventually meet somewhere and form a big caravan from Georgia. Well that's an idea at least. For example, a Gwinnett Caravan, Fulton/Marietta Caravan, Southside caravan, etc., and eventually meeting somewhere like the last exit of Georgia, or the first exit in Tennessee and then riding together.

I myself will be leaving at night, sometime after 9 or 10, b/c riding with no A/C during the day BLOOOOOOOWS!!! :D

Well for those of you that are going up Saturday morning and want to caravan I can meet anyone at the first Rest Area in Tennessee. I only live about 10 minutes from the state line, and I think that the ride to Nashville is long as hell when rolling solo. there are a lot of options..... but the hotels are getting filled quickly. I would get on orbitz or something. Try and find a hotel in either downtown or the Vanderbilt area.

Near the stadium is ghetto. Not as bad as near Turner field in ATL, but still not great. Those hotels are prolly filled by now anyway.

Yes there is, if you stay on 75N all the way to barret and then make a left off the ramp BP is on the right, but if you get on 575 which is the and take the first exit with is barret anyway and make a right QT is on the right, you can get to QT either ways i told you have to take a right regardless and ride until you see it:goodjob:
