It's not as easy as you guys may think. Seems to me that there are things you may not be seeing/reading/understanding. Later, QD.

GA is pretty much the easiest. You can even get silencers legally here, if you go through the paperwork.

Actually, you can do that anywhere in America. Hell, you can get fully automatic guns anywhere too.

Hardly any state requires a "license" to buy or own a gun. Guns are not "registered" anywhere except for left-wing states where the JBTs like to squash your rights. Getting a permit in GA is pretty easy. I've had one for years and I pack heat every day. It is nice to know that I can protect myself, if necessary. Silencers are legal in GA (National Firearms Act) as are short-barrel rifles and machine guns. Machine guns are not allowed in every state, but they are in most. State law determines. You either go thru a background check with prints and get an LEO signoff, or you form a trust or corporation that will purchase the weapon. That way you do not go thru background, fingerprint, LEO signoff, etc.
Owning guns is serious business. My friend used his to stop a rape by the Mall of Georgia. Another had to brandish his when three guys approached him and tried to surround him. It doesn't hurt to have one one hand. You never know when you might need it.

Yeah and that shit can backfire too. Always be aware of your surroundings. If someone comes up and takes it from you, its pretty much useless right?
BTW, Theres supposedly a law here in Kennesaw that requires homeowners to have a handgun or somethin like that.

CONFIRMED
Kennesaw's gun ordinance, adopted in March 1982, reads as follows:
Code of Ordinances & Gun Law
Sec. 34-1 Heads of households to maintain firearms.
(a) In order to provide for the emergency management of the City, and further in order to provide for and protect the safety, security and general welfare of the city and its inhabitants, every head of household residing in the City limits is required to maintain a firearm, together with ammunition therefore.
(b) Exempt from the effect of this section are those heads of households who suffer a physical or mental disability, which would prohibit them from using such a firearm.
Further exempt from the effect of this section are those heads of households who are paupers or who conscientiously oppose maintaining firearms as a result of beliefs or religious doctrine, or persons convicted of a felony.

naw maynez. The law passed on March 26th 1982. not that old. rest of the country thought kennesaw was crazy and that the cities crime rate would sky rocket, but it did quite the opposite. To date, kennesaw has one of the lowest crime rates in the COUNTRY. Since the law passed there have only been 3 murders in kennesaw. one w. a gun and 2 with knives

Does anyone know how long it takes for a permit. Someone told me that you go to the Municipal court and the whole transaction take about 2-3 months.

Depends on the county.
You have to go to Probate court and apply, go get your fingerprint cards done, turn them back in with your ap, wait, and get the license. Sometimes it takes longer than others, but usually it doesn't take that long.

Yup. I applied in Jonesboro a while back and never heard back from them in a year. By then, I had moved to Conyers and got applied and received my CCW in 2 months, exactly.

Steps:
1. Go to Probate court, same place you go to get marriage license, and fill out application
2. Go to sheriff's office and get your fingerprints done. I believe it is about $10.
3. Go back to Probate court and submit application and $35 and then wait.

I would hate to see anyone try to take my weapon. THe only time is will come out is if I feel that my life, or the life of another, is in imminent danger. If anyone steps to me once it is pulled (I am operation under the assumption that my life is in imminent danger) 230 grain is going to start flying. I could dial back the force to pepper, resort to open or closed hand combat, etc. But if I feel my life is under threat, I'm acting. If someone ever did manage to grab my gun, I would simply draw my other gun with weak hand and pop me some. Dig?

Lucky SC made asked what if someone comes up and takes it. I responded to that question. It's not called bragging. Bragging is when a person has, let's say, enourmous wealth, and they run around telling everyone about what they bought today, and yesterday, etc. What I did when I responded was tell it like it is. That's the way it is. I carry everyday, and I have for 13 years. I stay alert at all times. Danger is lurking in the real world. No, I'm not some bad dude. I am a peaceable person. Someone said to walk softly and carry a big stick.

everybody on here seems to think ,achine guns are easy to get, you have to get a class 3 permit which i believe is around 300.00 then the backround check, then 6-9 months of processing then how ever much for the gun, easy 10,000 or more for new. class 3 is not as easy to acuire as a carry permit, also silencers are class 3, you cant just walk into a store a buy one
