SOLD!! But open for orders!! Either myself or Bucky will paint your valve cover just about what ever you want for a reasonable price. I will be doing a SOHC Vtec soon much like I did mine(red and white) in the pic above. Orders?

brittoknee

sweet... I want one like the 1st pic... with the sparkle grey and PURPLE instead of blue. How much will you do it for if I give you my valve cover? Also, the spark plug cover... did you just sand the H emblem off or is that aftermarket? this looks badass!

It's easy as hell to do.. time consuming, yes, especially to get it smooth, but the basic technique is easy... grab a cheap 1.5 SOHC valve cover for like $20 and practice on it. The covers are aluminum, so the letters grind down easily (almost too easily sometimes lmao) and with enough mag polish and some time they look really nice.

Not dogging the thread starter.. they look awesome.. I just hate for people to think there's a big mystery behind them when there's not. Hot covers though. :goodjob:

yes it is easy but most people dont want to take the time to do it or will prob mess up one of the steps ruining the project. but when they are done right it can really set off a bay

Yea I kno some of US have real jobs, which is why taking a few hours to paint a valve cover isn't that long. You wanna see me do a valve cover like that in a few hours? Sure thing...lemme see if a friend of mine will volunteer his valve cover and i'll post it up....

A dremel or 100 grit sand paper will do. Those things come off pretty easily...

lol ok. and i am not talking some thin layers of paint. that will chip easy as hell. 2 coats primer, 5 coats base color, 2 coats second color, 3 coats clear, shave the letters to without scaring the cover itself. i am not trying to start anything but i would rather tell someone 3 days to do it instead of 3 hrs cause when 3 hrs is up and its not done then they are pissed. and 3 hrs would make a rush and not a good product in the end

Na 3 hours would be an OK time limit but I agree, that would be rushing it. A few hours though would be alright :goodjob: Do you bake them?

The BUCKY
01-19-2007, 04:18 PM
no need to bake them they are done in a heated room.

gtikid
01-19-2007, 04:19 PM
