1) If he doesn't improve with the new coach... this is Vick's last year with the Falcons...

2) We'll be keeping Shaub until then

I dont understand considering this is the 3rd offense Vick has to learn

edit: I hope Vick does go to another team, get a good offensive line w/ receivers that can catch and take them to the Superbowl to expose the bullshit he's had to deal with in Atlanta.

I heard the same things, & it's not surprising. For all the Vick haters, who cry about his quarterbacking, or lack thereof. Again, you weren't winning with Jeff George, not with Chris Miller, not with Brett Favre, not with Chandler, not with Bartkowski either.

So maybe instead of just ramming Vick, why don't you realize, maybe, just maybe IT'S THE FUCKING FALCONS PERIOD!!! LOL

I'm actually with Tony on this one. Part of me wants to see Vick do what he can do here, but more than likely, he'll be traded/released, then develop, then all these asshole haters, will be like " gosh why wasn't he like that here"?

My reply will be coaching descisions. Best example, of coaching, Jeff Garcia!! Was a 3-time Pro Bowl QB in SF, went to two bottom feeding franchises..Detroit, then Cleveland. Goes to better coaching, better supporting cast, has Eagles in playoffs.

Yet, whenever someone says " well maybe Vick hasn't gotten what he needs, people say " oh he can' throw". Yeah right, ya'll will hate it when he's gone....Vegeta

I've heard that if Petrino feels as if he has progressed as far as Vick can go. Then he can look somewhere else for QB (Schaub or other). But mark my words, no way in hell would that ever happen. The Falcons fans (majority) still love Vick, and he IS NOT the problem with this team. He has a few small problems, but the major problems on this team are things outside of his control. Recievers not catch, blockers not blocking, corners getting burned constantly, an overpaid middle line backer taking naps on the field apparently (complete waste of money.... fuckin Hartwell...) etc etc. Trust me, Vick won't be getting replaced til he cant run.

I mean Oakland is going to draft a QB 1st pick anyways...

Probably JaMarcus Russell. So just trade that pick for a veteran QB and call it a day.

Vick on the raiders would be sick. He could pass to Randy Moss.

Shit... Vick is worth a helluva lot more than just a 1st round draft... especially to a desperate team like the Raiders. Anyways... nahh, it'd never happen and it shouldn't ever happen. Vick is what this team needs, they just need to shore up some of the other holes and we will have a super bowl team easy.

On that note... fuckin just trade Schaub and a 2nd rd pick to Oakland, and get Moss... That'll fix problems for both teams, we'll have a sure handed reciever, and they'll have a decent QB to throw to there Mossless aka crappy recieving corp.

BOTTOM LINE IS THIS...I DONT HATE VICK BUT IM DEFINATELY NOT A FAN. PEOPLE ARE ALWAYS GOING TO BLAME HIM WIN OR LOSE...LOOK AT THE YANKESS AND BASEBALL...THEY CAN HAVE A PITCHER GO 12-4 WITH A 1.89 ERA AND STILL BITCH ABOUT HIS 4 LOSSES....VICK COULD GO TO ANOTHER TEAM, USE HIS SKILLS AND PEOPLE IN ATL WILL BITCH OR IF HE LEAVES AND DOESNT DO TOO GOOD, PEOPLE WILL SAY "TOLD YOU SO"

EITHER WAY, RIGHT NOW ITS NO WIN FOR VICK IN ATL

I don't think Oakland would give up a 2nd rd pick and Moss for Schaub...

Vick isn't what the Falcon's need.

The Falcon's need recievers who will catch the ball. If you notice the Falcon's have already addressed coaching issues and have all new offensive and defensive coordinators.

The Falcon's should shop Vick.

I wouldn't be suprised if they let him go. His production has plummeted since he left Minnesota, and so has his trade value. I know he's still skilled, but he isn't getting a chance to shine over there. Anyways... no way will Vick be traded, and the day he does, I guarantee it'll be the last moments of both Rich McKay and Arthur Blanks reign with the Falcons. But like I said, it wouldn't happen so I'm not gonna harp on the negative. I've got a positive outlook on next season and can't wait to see what kind of acquisitions we get this offseason. I mean hell, the season isn't even over yet and we already picked up a new head coach and a new offensive and defensive coordinator.

All falcons ever needed was fucking receivers, we could of kept mora and the offense but def fire the defense cooridinator and receivers coach, keep Lelie and drop all the rest of the scrubs that can't catch

also it wouldn't be a bad idea to trade warrick dun and just run griffith and norwood

I'll agree, we could of kept Mora, but we definatly needed a change at OC and DC... they were SUCKING... I've heard that Norwood is going to really try and work out hard this offseason so hopefully his main drawback (his only drawback that I can think of: durability/aka chicken legs) will be removed. If we can get him to be an almost every down back, that'd be perfect. He's quick as hell, got some insane cuts, and he's young. It's like Warrick Dunn minus 10 years of age and adding a bit of height heh.

i would continue to throw the ball at the recievers, which is the quarterbacks job. if they don't catch it, then it's on them, but at least i did my job corretctly. teams have running backs, and it is the runningbacks job to run the ball. he would look alot better to everyone if he did his job and didn't try to take the game into his own hands, which hardly ever works.

or maybe because he's the highest paid football player, and his team is doing shitty. everyone is going to point the finger at the franchise player, if the team is doing bad. no one is going to say 'god, if brooking was doing better they would have won that game' or 'if crumpler had only blocked better things would have gone our way' they are going to blame the player who the franchise puts it's money in.

thats the way it works with MOST teams and MOST qbs, but that is not the way it works with vick....his receivers drop ball after ball, do you hear them getting blasted in the media?? no, all you hear about is vick this and vick that. his recievers even said it themselves, after one game this year i cant remember which one, they said it was their fault, and they need to make more plays for the qb

not necessarily. if you were paying outstanding ammounts of money for a secondary with charles woodsen, lito sheppard, and roy williams. and you had the worst pass defense, people would be pissed at the secondary, not because of the fact that the offense didn't score enough. it works the same way here, atlanta put all of its money into a quarterback, that currently, itsn't performing.

it has nothing to do with 'popular' guys, it has to do with how much money these players are making. the more money, the more they are expected to perfrom. vick makes the most money and is expected to bring his team (yes, his team, as the quarterback he is the team leader) at the very least through the first round of the playoffs. and he hasn't been doing that.

like i said before, anyone who ecpects one man to lead an entire team to a super bowl is obviously an idiot. it is a team game, thats why the patriots are always right there, thats why pittsburgh was there last year. and fyi, in the years vick has made the playoffs, he has gotten past the first round.

and ill expand on the "team" part, thats why im glad mora is gone, he seemed like he had favorites and was too close to some of his players, which can lead to separation among the team. also, the falcons were always very undisciplined under mora, always scrapping and getting stupid penalties and what not. gotta play smart

obviously you are an idiot. you are right, it is a team game. but in every team, there is a LEADER. and it is usually the quarterback. he is expected to LEAD his team. the patriots are always there because tom brady is an excellent LEADER.

and yes, he has made it past the first round, but the expectation is to get increasingly better, not increasingly worse.

maybe lead wasnt the right word to use, i meant CARRY. it is too hard a job for one man to CARRY an entire team to the super bowl, when you got shitty playcalling, a secondary that gets roasted EVERY game, a fucking mrs. butterworth receiving corp, and an offensive line that cant give vick 3 seconds in the pocket. some games i watch and seriously, there are defenders in the backfield almost as soon as the ball is snapped, its unreal.

on the contrary to what some people think, vick would rather throw first, run second...he just knows that throwing to those recievers will not get him anywhere, so he runs. he knows its all on his shoulders and if he doesnt get it done some way somehow, he will be ripped a new one.

Why do you like that? You aren't even a Falcons fan. Anyways... How can you call Vick the most overrated player "period"? Do you ever watch Falcons games? You put Brady or Manning behind the current Falcons O-Line and see how long they would last, they would be turned into human origami. Vick does what he can with what he is given, "PERIOD". He gets 2 seconds (if he's lucky) to do his reads, if he doesn't see anything, he has nothing left to do except try and buy some more time with his feet. The ONLY player I could see even surving in this current system aside from Vick (or another mobile QB) would be a quick gunslinger like Tony Homo, and even then he'd still have to deal with the butterfingerlicious receivers. I'm not giving up hope on the receivers, but you'd have to be a blind ignorant moron sheep (see above) to think that all the faults of our offense go on Vicks shoulders.

So basically, as I said Vick does what he can with what he is given.

i say yes to the johnson trade because he is my favorite college player, and i want to see him in a position where he can win.

i never said that manning or brady wouldn't get sacked. all i said is that they make better decisions (which they do) and would do a better job sending a leadership image to the team, which im sorry, but vick doesn't do.

damn, A. Blank is muhfucca with the designated threats in '07. he really is catching a lot of heat though, so he has to make something happen.

I would hate to see Vick go, but if he were to succeed in another program; that would make the true fans very happy and be a baby powdered pimp slap to the face of haters.

I'm out of the loop, so has a new offensive coordinator been brought in already as well? If so, thank God. I was really pissed about how they used Dunn in short yardage situations in the latter part of the season. That's my boy and I've been a fan since my official visit at FSU during his senior season, but damn taking a 180lb guy and running him straight into an 8 man front is as Mike Tyson would say "ludicrous". I don't think I've heard anyone mention the need for another big RB, not a full back but a good solid runner with excellent speed and foot work.

I've been looking and I can't find any site that tracks the # of dropped passes. sure every now & then some site will say, "T.O has the most". leaving out that the guy played X# of games with a broken finger. hey you try and catch a pass from an NFL QB with a Jamed finger let alone a broken 1....back to the point. where to the Falcons rank in TEAM dropped passes? I bet they're not even in the top 5. then we could see if all this "it's the recievers that make Vick suck" or that Vick makes Vick suck.

"Let's stroll down memory lane for a second.
San Diego knew in 2001 it wouldn't sign the expected top pick and made a trade with Atlanta: The Falcons got No. 1 and gave up the fifth pick, the third-round pick, the second-round pick in 2002 and receiver Tim Dwight.
With that fifth pick, San Diego chose LaDainian Tomlinson. Tay Cody of Florida State was the third-round pick, and Florida receiver Reche Caldwell the 2002 second-round choice.
Tomlinson has become one of the game's best running backs ever.
Cody started 11 times as a rookie, then played in five games the next two seasons. A little injury plagued, he was released early in the 2003 season, played nowhere in 2004 and has been in the Canadian Football League the past two seasons.
Caldwell caught 76 passes in four seasons at San Diego, left as a free agent and has 61 receptions this year for New England.
Dwight caught 91 passes in four seasons at San Diego and has 35 catches during the past two in New England and with the New York Jets. His season ended early last month with foot and thigh injuries."

"Giving Vick every credit for a win and blaming the rest of the world for a loss.
Some of what they ignore is that Vick:
• was 18th out of 19 NFC quarterbacks in fourth-quarter productivity - including no TD passes in the final quarter - and 12th of 18 in third-down passing;
• failed to complete 50 percent of his passes in five games this year.
• was the quarterback of a team that scored 14 points or fewer in nine of 16 games;
• has completed a lower percentage of passes each of the past three years;
• was sacked 45 times in 2006, the second most of his career.
So he was sacked and still rushed for 1,000 yards, and his passing numbers decreased and the Falcons missed the playoffs. Becoming less a "great athlete" and more "an efficient and winning quarterback" is pretty much the deal right now."

I dont think Mora was the problem, I think Vick is. Vick is not coachable. I have played against athletes with the attitude that Vick has. They think they are a 1 man show, and they tell the coach what they are going to do, not the other way around. Until you have a leader on the team that is a team player and puts the team first, Atlanta will continue to have a losing team and fingers will start pointing.

Because, you said that the facts posted above proved your point that vick is overrated. The facts are used in a fashion that tries to shine a negative light on vick. You can make anyone look bad by saying only negative things about them. Im not saying that im a blind follower of vick or anything, just it bothers me that you seem so confident and assured that Vick is overrated. I may have been a little rude with what i said and i apologize for coming off that way. This topic just irritates me. Ill explain further a little later, gotta get ready for work.

oh, well i just don't like vick period. i think he is a good athlete, but that he is not fit to play a quarterback in the NFL. or ar at least be the highest paid. thats why i call him overrated, because he makes the most money and doesn't produce very well. if he wasn't paid that much, then i wouldnt call him overrated because he would be producing the numbers that he was paid for. but right now he is underproducing for what the falcons pay for him. i have always thought this, and everytime i watch them play i think this. i never had the exact stats in front of me, so i was thanking him for posting them.

Ok heres my opinion on the subject.

Quarterbacks are typically the "lead-man" of a football team. They take the wrap when things go wrong and when they win, they get the most glory. How if the team as a whole isnt playing to par, then its gonna make the quarterback stick out and he will be the one catching the most heat for it. This is not to say that the quarterback isnt in fault, just that he is the center of attention. With Vick this is extremely true. When people watch the falcons play, they pay the most attention to vick. So if his receivers arent catching the ball, and his lineman arent blockin like they should, Vick cannot perform to his best. Then you have the fact that he holds the record for the most rushing yard for a Quarterback in the NFL, the Defense for other teams are expecting him to run. So they are set-up for him to run. This automatically puts him in the situation where he almost has to run the ball. In an interview he said that he doesnt like running the ball all the time. He said he wanted to show that he is still a lethal quarterback when he is passing. He thanked his lineman for protecting him aswell. People get this mental image of him being a prick and an asshole, when infact he may be, but we as fans have alot to do with it. When your constantly under the magnifying glass it puts alot of pressure on you. Then to have your every mistake, whether your fault or not, criticised wouldnt make you very happy either. We as fans hype Vick up, then if he doesnt meet our expectations, we blame him and get dissappointed. So how is it his fault that we expect him to be perfect under any condition? We expect him to complete every pass, convert every 3rd and 4th down, and dodge every tackle and logically thats impossible. But ill quit, i got carried away. Thats just kinda how i see it.

Yeah, but when you are playing quarterback, you know that all of the responsibility comes with the territory. If you can't handle it, then you don't need to be in that type of position. Good quarterbacks can make passes that are always there, Great quarterbacks can make passes that aren't there. You have to make plays happen, not just hope they go according to plan. Fact is, Vick is progressivly getting worse and worse each year he continues to play, when he "should be" improving after every year. Like I said, you know the pressure of the position when you sign up for it, if you can't handle it (like he has proved with the middle finger), then you don't need to be in that position.

Brett, your my boy and all, but you always talk about Vick doing bad simply because of the West Coast Offence. If that is the case, lets look at it this way.

A true West Coast offense doesn’t have that many quarterback keepers, sprints and rollouts that Vick was using. So therefore, you shut down his running ability, you shut down Vick. If it is that easy to shut down Vick, how great of a quarterback is he??? He might as well switch to a RB position where he has those running abilities. The WCO was just focusing on his arm and throwing ability, not his running ability. Last time I checked, the arm is what makes a quarterback, not the legs.

Brett, this is just for you. Its pretty funny. http://www.sportsgoons.com/volume2/Vol2_Iss32/east_coast_west_coast.htm

We will see, we will see.... I think we may all be suprised, I mean look how well he was progressing under Reeves, then when Mora came in his style/skill fell apart. If he doesnt improve for '07 he will have no one to blame but himself and he WILL NOT BE HERE AT THE END OF NEXT YEAR IF HE DOESNT KICK SOME ASS THIS COMING SEASON, thats just fact. Blank has already said that, so Vick needs to pull his head outta his ass, and play as if his career depends on it, because in all reality, It does. :D
