I want a new phone, and I'm torn b/w those 2. I'm on T-Mobile.

I like the Treo's OS & UI, but that 1.3 MP camera on the MDA is calling me; also, I don't think there's a case for the MDA, whereas there are for the Treo.

MDA:

So which one do you think I should get?

hey man, i have the t-mobile MDA great phone. Treo is basically the same. it really all depends on what you like. negative's about the MDA are the stylus pen contracts, the Treo Doesn't. i'd honestly go for the MDA if you have t-mobile. cause first off your looking at a $150 cancelation fee if you switch providers.

can you use the internet browsing option with prepaid accounts? I'm torn between the cing 8125 and blackjack, probably end up with the 8125 since its cheaper.

I have no idea, but you can browse the internet w/ the sidekick for $1/day.

i work with cell phones. mda is a very good phone but it does lag. but what pda doesnt? like my blackberry with the RIM techn. it still sometimes lag. but i am a fan of both treo and htc, but htc has windows so i would go with the htc. enless you want the treo 750 *drool...

HTC FTW....don't get me wrong, a Treo is a great phone and is a whoooooole lot more user friendly. BUT, you can do a lot more with a MDA. There are many programs that you can download with it and make it a whole lot more interesting. For example, I could play nintendo/sega/64/snes/mastersystem/atari on my old PPC/Windows Mobile 5.0 device :goodjob:

^Good question. I'm about to search google to see if I can find anything that interest me. I had found a cellphone guru website a while back that had about every hack avail. for all product lines, wish I would of bookmarked it.

For the PPC/MDA/HTC/Windows Mobile 5.0 Devices, the best websites would be www.ppc6700users.com and www.pdaphonehome.com :goodjob:

honestly, I've owned a treo and currently own an mda

I will never ever buy a treo again. I don't know if it didn't work properly due to it being a cingular phone, but it was unlocked. the treos freeze up too much, that was my main issue. in addition to the web browser always resetting to the homepage when you closed it out, I can name endless problems.

onto the mda. I really can't say I love it, but it'll do. I like the windows based os and media player. the drawback is the camera, it sucks and you cannot really get semi decent photos. in addition to that, I use aol aim and there are huge lag times for received messages and you have to refresh the list to update it. the stylus is loose and sometimes comes out, I've lost one and had to buy 3 more just in case.

I'm honestly looking at the pearl or dash. I need something better or a bit different.

Why don't you try out Agile Messenger instead? I've read it's the best software for IM'ing. AIM/ICQ/Yahoo/MSN all in one :goodjob:

And the whole stylus thing happens with everyone. My trick was to put a little bit of tape around the "handle" of the stylus, like around the black tip, and it helps it stay in place very very tight and snug and no one can see it...

i just bought a dash..imma check it out some and then let you all know what i think..AS far as looks and size its real hott..

The dash is the exact same thing as the Blackjack, just looks differently. It runs a more compressed version of Windows Mobile 5.0, meaning that you can't do everything with that version of WM5 as you can with a PPC or an MDA....

You haven't been looking enough :goodjob:

Fuck Magic Button. You have to turn it on everytime you reset your phone and that program ends up bugging out. Try Wisbar Advanced and Wisbar Desktop. Trust me...you haven't been looking hard enough...

i say treo 680... ive had the MDA and 8125 (and if you were to choose go with 8125) the mda lags too much, but I loved my treo 650 that I had, only problem was the size, they are just too big, but the wifi of the 8125/mda is a big plus! or you can go with the dash, which i think is better than the mda's, even tho its not touch screen. I have the dash now and its a great phone.
