Could be coming in the near future. One of the topics to be discussed in this year's GA will be the dismissal of the ad-valorem tax we pay on the car each year. Talking about cars that cost over $10,000. I sure hope it goes through. Later, QD.

Wish it had gone through last year. Just paid $400+ to renew mine. Don't know of any other states that tax like this. You would think gas tax covers road usage. NY has sales tax on private party used cars too but at least its not every year.

Is that how much the car is worth or how much I paid for it?

I've had cars registered in 3 states now and I've paid a yearly tax on every one of them.

As of now the AV Tax applys to EVERY vehicle, if the bill gets passed, cars over 10k will be exempt.

Mother fuck. I paid almost $2000 for my ad-valorem tax the first year that I owned my car. Talk about a fucking rip off.
any idea how they'll recoup it in the backend??? like how FL has all those damn'd toll roads................

I just paid $600+ for the Fusion and Leisa's Vue, I for one would gladly welcome this. When does it go to vote?
In Florida where I grew up we paid $25 per tag each year no matter what the value.

Man thank god, I just coughed up nearly a grand to register two cars. Considering in FL it's only $35 per car per year, that's robbery.

Anyone else think that is f-ed up? I mean why still have it on cars less than $10K? If you have a $30K+ car you can afford an extra $300 a yr. Lets continue to tax the broke people with old cars.
Either don't have it on any car at all, or have it on $30K+ cars (the people that won't miss it).

I'm pretty sure the millage rates for cars worth under $10k are already a lot lower than cars worth more. So.. in short.. suck my cock AND balls.
