Default What's a good price to sell my DART 2.1L talldeck motor for?

    Hi guys,

I have a freshly built DART talldeck shortblock that I'm thinking of selling.

I've spent over $2800 on top of the price of the motor and have all receipts.

This motor has eagle 95mm crank and long rods + wiseco 12.9:1 pistons.

It also has an ERL girdle that was machined and dowel pinned by Jim Justice.
And finally, the motor was balanced/ blueprinted and assembled by Don Flores.

I have never run this motor, and now I can't because my autox class requires only oem blocks.

What should I sell it for?

I have an extra set of pistons for this motor if you want to boost it: they are wiseco 10:1.

I also have an itr head and a set of Toda itb's I can sell if you want a complete setup. I also have some pro 3 cams to go with it.

What's it worth? $3000-4000 what will you get? Probably 2500$

That's a ready to go race short block that someone should buy and have arguably the best NA b series in the SE with the right head and intake. Good luck broseph

Haha, well I have no reason to put the work in on this motor at this point.

My plan was to get over 240whp na on itb's and spray a 100 shot on top.

Then I started getting serious about autox and this motor is illegal for my class.

So I got a supercharger and now I'm not sure what to do with this thing.

If I can't get a decent amount for it - just trying to at least break even, then I'll just keep it and put it in my beater.

Hey Mike, thanks for the reply. I guess that's why I haven't put it up fs.

240hp is an understatement, not sure if you're down playing the motor, but I'd expect 270+ with good flowing head.. I say that because my 89x84.5 cleared 250 easily.

Put it together with a good head/intake, and don't do ITB's..

    with a 4.9 FD.

This motor would have a much fatter powerband, and lots more TQ. Its basically an H22 with the R/S of a GSR. Im not sure on the 270 estimate. Id expect 260 with Jenveys. Toda IIRC far too small for this disp motor unless kenny has tricked out versions...............

This motor kinda needs the baller ITBs, but theres probably an intake setup good enough for it. Kens had ITBs since before they were "cool".

O... we have intakes now that would feed this monster, and yes 4.9 for race, or 4.7 for street.. Mike my 99x87.5 has a 5.2inch rod, shity 1.341 R/s ratio, but seen 9300 on dyno many times (80)!

It's gonna want a good head, 270cfm or better IMO..

Black R if you get serious hit up AFI for intake, and header!

It would make for a nasty street sweeper..

I'm not going to bench race, and this motor hasn't run so who knows if it would break 220whp!
I'm kinda betting it would - even with a victor x IM and eBay header, but I really have no interest in finding out at this time - since I have three other projects that I'm working on.

If anybody has a serious interest in this motor, pm me an offer.
Otherwise I'll just sit on it until I need a motor in one of my cars.
