Recently picked up a 240sx with a few things done to it. The car was, without a doubt, setup for drifting with a welded dif, k-sport coilovers, shitty 17x7 wheels, and gutted. When I finally got the chance to do some racing it started busting up before I got to the track. Luckily it was just the plugs, but I kept going... it was still pulling on every car in the competition. In the semi-finals an intercooler piping coupler blew off a bit before the 1/8th and I was eliminated. At this point I wanted to see some numbers showing exactly what the car was capable of as this wasn't a timed event. Just arm drop and a light for the first person there. Well, this wasn't going to happen on the 205/40/17s. Got the car back running good, made a trip up to Summit, and got the new 275/50/15 Hoosier DOT drag radials on the car. Like a fool, I drove the car to work 2-3 days of the week before going to race on Friday. Friday on lunch break I think the head gasket let go, or maybe the steam from the exhaust went un-noticed 'til then. Determined to make some passes, I babied the car home, topped off the coolant, and babied it 45 minutes to Silver Dollar.
1st pass - 10 psi = 13.00 @ 109 mph (lost the slip)
2nd pass - 14 psi =
R/T - .211
60' - 1.820
330' - 5.220
1/8th - 8.025 @ 89.38 mph
1000' - 10.407
1/4- 12.414 @ 113.01
Consistent 1.8 60' for both and granny shifting. This was with no launch control/2 step. Just preloaded and punched it. Weighed out at 2490 pounds with 1/2 tank of gas. Wanted to make a 3rd pass on 20 psi, but at this point it was getting worse and I'm not trying to completely fuck it up. Besides, still had to drive it home!
